Mikel 2

After the game, we ran home for a afternoon nap to prepare for the fun filled evening. We got ready (always more fun with two girls!) and met up with one of my colleagues (Mike) and his friend that lives here (Ben), hopped in the taxi and headed to the East Village. If you haven't been here, this place is the epitome of cool. Everyone has there own sense of style, think NYU, and likes to be on the edge of fashion, food and entertainment. You can literally feel the style as soon as you hit the first street. Ben (the guy from above who lives here) lives in the East Village and has recommended several places to try. We decided on Yerba Buena-a little combo Mexican/Peruvian restuarant. Here we meet up with another of my colleagues, Ed, and his friend Kristin. The place treats you like royalty as soon as you walk in. It is a small little place and they are able to make sure your experience is the best each time. Kind of love that.

They are known for their pisco sours, so of course I had to try one. Mikel had the pisco punch-tasty!

Dinner was fun, we all 6 shared food and drinks and stories. Times like these are the most fun for me, I am learning how much good friendship/fellowship means.

After dinner we had tickets to this crazy show called Fuerza Bruta. Words on a blog do not do this justice. I encourage each of you to check out the trailer to see a bit of what this is like- http://fuerzabrutanyc.com/
My analysis the next morning after sleeping on it-was cirque du soleil on drugs and that I was still unsure if I liked it and that drugs may be a necessary pre-show ritual. Picture rave with some choreography. During the show there are no English words spoken, they yell a few times in jiberish. The creativity and visuals were amazing, someone was really forward thinking when they created this. Not sure if the visuals were enough to win me over. In the pic below-it is not a bad pic-they had a real fog machine through out. Finally, the show ended with 10+minutes of music, people dancing/jumping and water coming from the ceiling and dj booth. What an experience...

Had to end the night with a nightcap to slow down and breathe. We went to the W at Union Square, Todd English has a bar/restaurant called Olives. Great way to end this crazy day!
