Mikel 3

So, after our crazy night, we felt the need to be a little more low key today. We started with brunch on one of my colleague's (David) patio. He has a roof top patio in NYC, it is pretty amazing, plus his father-in-law is creating an herb garden up there-it is unheard of in this city! Brunch consisted of eggs, bacon, two types of sausage, lamb and a tomato. Plus a spritzer, Singapore style. Don't think I mentioned, one of the negatives of being here so far has been the rain. So, in preparing Mikel for her trip-I warned, it is cold and rainy here. But, once she got here-it was like a ray of sunshine came with her. The temp was in the 80's throughout. Imagine, 80+ degrees, rooftop patio, brunch and great friends-again my heart swells. I was really proud to have Mikel meet my friends here, combine worlds. They loved her and couldn't believe I still had a friend from my early childhood! I'm blessed.

Next we headed to Soho shopping, walked the West Village, found a cute little wine bar with an open window to the street where we enjoyed wine and prosecco, then headed north to Hell's Kitchen. We had dinner reservations at Southern Hospitality (justin timberlake's place). Bbq food, it was good, atmosphere was bar like, lots of tvs, loud music-you get the picture. Overall fun place, not my fav and prob won't go back. Next we wondered the streets (Mikel was on a mission to take a pic of every letter in the alphabet in some form or fashion here), ran into a starbucks where we overheard a gentleman who's next goal was to be the first celebrity yoga instructor, then went to Voca People. Show was amazing as always, maybe even better the second time. Mikel got called on stage and loved every minute of her Broadway debut! After the show we waited outside for our friend with cameras ready because we had actually been tipped off that Kim Kardashian was seeing the show next door and was about to come out. Sadly, we missed her, but did catch her entourage! Can't believe I don't have any pics from all this. Sorry for all the words and no visuals...great day in the city none the less.
