Rest of the mom weekend

The nice thing about having my mom around is she is always up for whatever. If it's going and doing, she's in, if it's staying home and lying low-she's in too. After our day out in the cold from the tour, we decided dinner would be local. I had been dying to try this place call the Fatty Fish (sushi has to be good with a name like that, right?) So we walked around the corner and had a fabulous meal with fun, festive drinks!

The year of the dragon roll-kind of looks like one too!

There are very few things I have been dying to do in the city that I haven't just gone and done myself. However, seeing the Book of Mormon is one thing lingering. Mostly, because tickets are so hard to get and if they are even available-they are pricey!

As we were sitting around Sunday morning, planning our day-walk central park, museums, etc. I mentioned I wanted to see this. My mom said to check it out! I did and there were tickets available for the 2.00 show (4 hours away) and they were semi-reasonably priced!! (essentially the same as wicked tickets). Seemed perfect, so we bought them!
This show is truly one of the funniest things I have seen and I don't love South Park humor at all. I thought it would be a little crude for my mom, but no-think she laughed more than I did. The score is perfectly written, super catching and the harmonies are amazing. The plot is really good (i chose to take the positive slant), but I won't give away the details here. This is one of my favorite things of all times, worth it if you can get tickets!
Final night, we ate at this cute little bistro. Food was surprisingly good, fresh and healthy! As we are sitting here a small blizzard passes through. It last less than 10 minutes, puts a couple inches down and moves out as quickly as it moved in. Crazy NYC weather. Another fabulous mom weekend. Did I mention she is now officially retired-hope that means more NYC trips
